Friends are Forever

I have lived in my home for 20 years now. I have loved the great friends that I have made and these friends will be eternal. One of my dearest friends moved last week to another state. We have known each other for as long as we have lived here. Her friendship means a lot and I wanted her to know it so I made a small quilt. It means a lot to me to share my love this way. Here it is. A womans work is never done, except if she loves to quilt.

This Blog is really just for me. I love to see the finished product. I enjoy my life of being a homemaker, wife, mother, and all the titles I have. Just when it comes to keeping a home clean, there is never a finished result to that, if you know what I mean. I love to sew because there is a finished product and I like to go back and look at it again and again. It brings me joy. :)

Saturday, March 13, 2010 When I get into a mood to create, it is because I have probably been inspired by something I have seen or because I need to make a gift for someone. I really do feel good when I make something original, but it is inspired and created to give away, so I am creating this blog to remember how much fun I had making this creation. I would like to help inspire others to do the same. I would love to see other original creative blogs and follow them and share with others our inspired ideas. God has given us all gifts, for some, it is the desire to create. I hope I can encourage others to share their creations, whether it be quilts or hair accessories, bags, clothing or whatever it is. Creating original art that we can use can be so rewarding. I hope this will start a surge of creativity among many. Lori

Saturday, May 28, 2011 There is nothing perfect on this earth. We accepted that when we chose to follow the only perfection that ever was on this earth, our Savior Jesus Christ. He is the only perfect being and I am glad that I am on His side. When I create a blanket I do not expect perfection. I have an idea of how it may turn out and sometimes it turns out and sometimes it is different than I planned. I love to create, especially when it is for someone else. What do we understand about perfection? We know it is what we are striving to become. We know it can not be obtained in this life and we know it is a characteristic we do not understand yet. I believe that our imperfections and weaknesses can help us to become more perfect in humility. I know that when we accept others imperfections it helps us to become more perfect in love and charity. So I believe that our imperfections will help us to become perfect one day. I love to create, and I do not expect perfection in my creations. But I do expect to create it with love for the person or people I create it for. Know that this blanket was made with as much love as I can give at this imperfect time of my existence. I am learning to love and I am learning to create. I hope in time that both of these skills will continue to improve as time goes on.
